The training is CPD certified which means that the course will count as 6 hours of accredited learning.
A one-day course suitable for all people that work with children and young people.
Understand how abuse and neglect can occur and be able to identify possible indicators
Recognise the importance of preventing abuse and neglect by intervening at the earliest opportunity
Understand the multi-agency context of safeguarding and child protection and the importance of working together
Know how to respond appropriately to safeguarding and child protection concerns
In addition to the threats to the welfare of children from within their families, the training will focus on other areas of risk as highlighted in the HM Government guidance: Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 that states children may be vulnerable to abuse or exploitation from outside their families.
These extra-familial threats might arise from peer groups, or more widely from within the wider community and/or online. These threats can take a variety of different forms and children can be vulnerable to multiple threats, including: exploitation by criminal gangs and organised crime groups such as county lines. It asks all organisations to be alert to the emerging risks.
Refreshments (tea/coffee and biscuits) will be provided on arrival and during breaks but lunch will NOT.
Price: £50 per person
